John Kincheloe

John “Kinch” Kincheloe is an Associate Professor of Maritime History at NoVA, a crew member of the Tall ship Providence, and an advocate for all students of the world. While attending Hampden-Sydney College, James Madison University, and University of Connecticut, he took extended absences from his studies to solo over 12,000 expedition miles, hiking and bicycling across the United States four times while putting up additional canoe and trekking routes in Canada, Scotland, and Peru. As he settled into career and family he turned to sailing and consulting aboard historic tall ships in Norway, New England, and the Chesapeake, most notably the world’s largest Viking ship: Draken Harald Harfagre.
